Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant has responded to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s recent challenge with an all-timer of a touchdown catch. Ahead of Saturday night’s Steelers road playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Roethlisberger publicly challenged his inconsistent big-play threat.
Speaking on his Tuesday radio show, Roethlisberger addressed Bryant, imploring him to “toughen up.”
How’s this for you, Big Ben?
Somehow, someway, with rainfall pounding down from all sides, Bryant preserved to gain control of the ball while letting gravity take his feet within the end zone’s restrictions. With so much forward momentum coming down from Bryant’s leap, he had two choices: 1) Tumble into a mess and maybe lose control of the ball, or 2) DO A FRONT-FLIP AND PUT THE BALL IN HIS CROTCH FOR SECURITY.
Bryant opted the second alternative. Beautifully. And upon official review, it counted too. Take that, dumb catch rule!
The touchdown catch widened the Steelers’ third one-quarter result over the Bengals to 15 -0.
