Jared Allen Announces Retirement Like He’s In A Classic Western Film

After 12 seasons in the league, defensive end announced his Thursday morning via Twitter.

While on a horse and wearing a cowboy hat, Allen thanked everyone for the subsistence during his time in the NFL and then rode off towards the horizon like John Wayne.

“This was the portion where I was gonna ride off into the sundown, but find how there’s no sundown, I’m just gonna ride off, ” he said before his pony galloped away into an open field.

Joining the NFL in 2004, the 33 -year-old playing with four teams during his tenure. He accumulated 136 sacks — tied for ninth all-time — and 641 tackles during the course of its career.

In his final season, Allen played in 12 games for the and had two sacks and 27 tackles.
